The play continues Saturday and June 23-24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday and June 25 at 2 p.m.
“Nana” is Sylvia Charles, Bridget Charles’ sweet grandma, with whom Bridget will be staying while she attends law school in New York City, not knowing that Nana runs an unlicensed boutique that sells sexy undergarments to senior citizens.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Cindy Quinn of Follansbee, who had been slated to portray Sylvia, will play Clair Schmidt, one of Sylvia’s major clients, while Diana Mendel of Wellsburg will play Sylvia.
As the show’s director, Barnhart says she identified with the characters in the play because of her personal experiences. “I have a really close and great relationship with my grandma and it seemed that way with the grandmother and granddaughter in the play,” Barnhart explained.
