Orcutt’s Naughty Oak brewing making a beer run to Santa Ynez

Six months after opening their Naughty Oak Brewing Company in Orcutt, Steve and Emily Kitts are expanding to Santa Ynez. The couple have leased a long-closed restaurant space on Sagunto Street, which was last occupied by the short-lived Ranch Reata Roadhouse, for a taproom.

“When we opened the brewery in Orcutt, we planned on enough production to support a second taproom,” Steve Kitts said.

Kitts was a home brewer, a member of the Air National Guard and a Vandenberg Air Force Base employee before opening his business in Orcutt in December. His concept was good quality beer in a good quality atmosphere, he said. That’s what he intends to bring to Santa Ynez.

“It will be family friendly and live music will be a big focal point,” he said.
